The University of Oxford news published an article called, On Being Hyggelig. The word hygge meaning cosy or comfort is a noun: the adjectival form is ‘hyggelig’. It shares the same etymology as the English ‘hug’, from the old Icelandic ‘hugga’, meaning to embrace or to soothe: it is intimately linked, in other words, with the body and with domestic space as a protective (and protected) realm.

My cyclical nature allows me to be welcoming of others, to restore myself with others, to be welcomed by others, and to restore myself with my Source of Life, allows me to come home to my true self, again and again, just like seasons in nature. A hyggelig space for this cyclical nature of being human in our home and environment allows the worst and best of me to be welcomed, truly welcoming and healing all aspects of myself as they emerge. This is restorative health.
Caed mille failte - 'A hundred thousand welcomes' feels quiet and robust, true for me in this current home called planet earth.
